2000Buildings and roads begin to dot the area.
2005One pit is now visible and the complex has taken shape.
2010Mining is underway at a second pit
2015The beginnings of a third pit can be seen off the coast.
These are the pits of the mine, built off an island in Lac de Gras. The largest one, named A154, is almost 1 km in diameter. The entire site is about 6.5 km (4 miles) long.
The processing facility is where rough diamonds are separated from extracted rock.
