By David Yanofsky — Last updated: August 6, 2014

The US trade deficit declined to $41.5 billion in June, in contrast with expectations that it would grow as a result of World Cup spending. The total amount of trade (imports plus exports) conducted with the US fell $2.6 billion to $433.3 billion, according to US statistics. The US's largest trade surplus in goods was with Hong Kong, which imported $3.1 billion more from the US than it exported, up from $2.5 billion last month. The largest US trade deficit was with China, which increased $1.0 billion to $30.1 billion.
