The state of trade with the United States

The US trade deficit declined to $44.4 billion in May, according to official statistics. The total amount of trade (imports plus exports) conducted with the US rose $1.3 billion to $435.3 billion. The US's largest trade surplus in goods was with Hong Kong, which imported $2.5 billion more from the US than it exported, down from $2.7 billion last month. The largest US trade deficit was with China, which increased $1.0 billion to $28.8 billion.
